More than $1.5 Million in Cocaine seized in Laredo

A tractor trailer was caught trying to transport $1.5 million worth of cocaine across the Mexican border Tuesday.

The find happened at the World Trade Bridge.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection say an imaging system and canine inspection led agents to find 72 packages of cocaine — weighing 200 pounds– on-board.

The haul has an estimated street value of $1,543,600.

Agents seized the drug.  The case has been turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement – Homeland Security Investigation for further investigation.

No word on what happened to the driver or where the driver is from.
