Sheriff’s Deputy Arrested

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office is in the process of firing a detention officer accused of sexually assaulting a female inmate.

“Back on January 2nd, an inmate made an outcry. “She claimed that a detention deputy forced her to have sex with him against her will,” said James Keith with the sheriff’s office.

They have surveillance video showing Deputy Erick Montez transporting the woman in a van from the county annex to the jail parking lot.

“We see him get out of the van and go to the back where he has inappropriate actions with this woman.”

Keith says Montez, confessed to the crime. He’s charged with sexual assault and violating the inmate’s civil rights.

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone who may have been victimized by Montez to call 210-335-TIPS.-
