A man accused of murdering his parents at their West Bexar County home is behind bars after going on the run for 13 hours.
Sgt. Jason Reyes with the Texas Department of Public Safety told 550 KTSA News the suspect was tracked down Monday evening in a wooded area near a shopping center on Potranco Road near Loop 1604
"One of our troopers who happened to be in the area, along with a canine unit from the U.S. Border Patrol were in the area and one of the canine units alerted to a certain area and that's where the suspect was found," said Reyes.
Investigators had been searching for Bryant Meza since his parents were shot and killed around 5 a.m. Monday at their home in the 1300 block of Oakcask.
"Federal, state and county authorities were searching and trying to get this individual off the streets and because of our joint efforts we were able to do so," said Reyes.
The teen faces a capital murder charge in the shooting deaths of his parents, Fidel and Eva Meza.
