A year and a half of frustration on the road has come to an end near the University of the Incarnate Word in the area of Broadway and Hildebrand.
"Thursday Night at about 6:30, we finally opened up all of the lanes" said Melissa Sparks with the City's Transportation and Capital IMprovements department. She told 550 KTSA News the project covered a lot of improvements.
"Not only did it improve the drainage in the area, it also added roadway cpaapcity by adding turn lanes in the area" Sparks said, pointing to the overall scope of the work.
"The Broadway Hildebrand project cost about $15 and a half million for the construction portion of it--so it was not a small project by any means" Sparks said. '
