Cowboy Breakfast Still On

By Elizabeth Ruiz
Neither rain, nor snow nor sleet will cancel the 36th Annual Cowboy Breakfast.  .
"It's never been cancelled and it seems the worst weather we had was several years ago when we got  7 inches of rain in a four-hour period," said organizer Chuck Christian.
He remembers one year when there was sleet and snow.
"I'm gonna say it was the 5th or 6th year when we had sleet and snow at the old Central Park Mall," Christian said.
He told 550 KTSA News all systems are go for the breakfast Friday morning and they're not even considering cancelling the event, despite  a prediction of freezing rain and snow late Thursday and early Friday.
"Not at all.  It just makes that coffee more delicious and the tacos will go even faster," said Christian.
The free Cowboy Breakfast is scheduled from 4:30 to 8:30 a.m. at Cowboys Dance Hall on Northeast Loop 410 at IH 35.
It heralds the coming of the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo February 6-23.
