Craigslist Ad Leads to Arrest

A Craigslist ad lands a teenage burglary suspect behind bars.
Bike World on Broadway was burglarized early Saturday and Alamo Heights Police Sgt. Tom Vitacco told 550 KTSA News that evening, officers saw one of the stolen bicycles for sale on Craigslist.
"The ad even showed price tags from Bike World still on the bicycle, which made it very easy for us to confirm it was stolen," said Vitacco.
The ad also made it easy for undercover officers to contact the suspect.
"Posing as a buyer, we set up a deal to meet with the seller the next day," said Vitacco.
The suspect fell for it.
"Sure enough, at the arranged time, the suspect came riding up on the stolen bicycle and we took him into custody," said Vitacco.
The 15-year-old was taken to the Bexar County Juvenile Detention Facility and the search continues for a second suspect who was seen on surveillance video.
Investigators also are trying to determine if the two are linked to other similar thefts in San Antonio and Castle Hills.
