E Fairness Fight Continues

By Bill O'Neil

So many debates are raging in Washington today--still, one small business owner from Texas is back in D.C. this week--again making the case for "E Fairness."

"The free enterprise system works best--and is most efficient--when everyone is on equal footing" said Fred Rosenberg, the owner of toy and candy specialty shop "On the Park" in the Houston area. He told 550 KTSA News that so-called "equal footing" really does make a very big difference.

"When Texas made Amazon.com start paying sales tax last year, my business saw a 19.4% increase" Rosenbereg did.

Despite the many debates happening in Washington--Rosenberg said he's hopeful the House will follow the Senate's lead last year--and pass legislation closing the sales tax loophole on the federal level.
