EAA Stage IV On the Way?

By Kurt Gilchrist

Tighter restrictions could be on the way as soon as Tuesday--as the Edwards Aquifer Authority looks to conserve it's supply of water amid the continuing drought that has gripped the San Antonio area.

The trigger level is 630-feet, and a move to Stage IV restricitons by the Aquifer Authority could mean a similar move for providers such as New Braunfels Utilities.

"Our customers have been in Stage III watering restricitions since April, and that means they are allowed to water with a sprinkler irrigation system one day per week every other week" said Gretchen Reuwer with NBU.

"I believe it's going to be the fist time in history Stage IV would be declared for the San Antonio pool" Reuwer said.
