Earthquake Drill at Camp Bullis

By Bill O'Neil

A magnitude 9.2 earthquake rattling Anchorage, Alaska--it's just a drill--but one that is being taken very seriously this week at Camp Bullis.

With each disaster come s aunique set of new challenges said Major General Charles Gailes, the Commanding General of U.S. Army North's Task Force 51.

"It is different depending on the fact of where it happens, depending on local capablilities, depending on what the state is doing, what the adjacent states are doing and what the federal agencies are doing" General Gailes told 550 KTSA News, adding those challenges can range from what type of assistance is needed in the disaster zone--to how fast that assistance can get there.

"Each incident is different--there will be different requirements" General Gailes said.
