A somber memorial service in Houston--where four fallen firefighters are remembered days after losing their lives while battling flames at a motel.
"You all understand the magnitude of this loss" said Gopvernor Rick Perry at the service held inside of Reliant Stadium. The Governor said being a firefighter takes a special kind of dedication.
"They go to work everyday with that understanding--and they still rush in to danger--while the rest of us flee" Perry said, adding "That dedication drives them to greater heights of service--helping make a better and a safer world."
About 150 San Antonio firefighters volunteered their time to help cover calls in Houston while their fellow firefighters attended the memorial service. Investigators continue to look in to what caused the fire--but they beleive it did start in the motel's kitchen area.
