Friendly Campaign For Judge Nomination?

By Don Morgan

Can two longtime friends compete for the same elected office--and stay friends? The two men battling for the Democratic Nomination to be Bexar County Judge believe it's possible.

Despite their political fight--Incumbent Judge Nelson Wolff beleives he and Commissioner Tommy Adkisson will continue to work well together on Commissioner's Court.

"You've got to separate the politics from government" Wolff told 550 KTSA News, adding "When I ran for (San Antonio) Mayor, I had an incumbent Mayor and two Councilmen sitting with me every week--and we're running for Mayor. I kind of have a little history of that."

For his part, Adkisson told 550 KTSA News the two will remain friends in spite of their differences--quoting the late Sam Rayburn.

"If two people think alike on everything--one of them is doing all of thinking. I don't want to be accused of that, and I'm sure he doesn't either" Adkisson said.
