Hemisfair Park Could Lose Vintage Carousel

HemisFair Park is facing the loss of  its vintage 1917 carousel.
San Antonio Carousel Foundation, a non-profit group,  says efforts to revive the attraction have failed,  although thousands of dollars  was raised to restore it and repaint the horses.  Foundation members say the nine wooden horses were carved by German World War One prisoners of war in Leavenworth, Kansas.  They say they want to sell the carousel to a buyer who would keep it intact and ensure the ride would be completely operational again.
