A suspect in a hit-and-run accident that left a 9-year-old girl dead in the city's North Side has been arrested..
A warrant was issued Friday afternoon for 39-year-old Isidro Solis-Espinosa and Friday night, San Antonio Police tweeted that he was taken into custody in Laredo.
He faces a charge of Failure to Stop and Render Aid--Serious Bodily injury in the death of 9-year-old Tatyana Babineaux. She was struck by a pickup around 7 a.m. Wednesday as she was walking to school on Braesview near Larkspur.
Just before Midnight Thursday, officers found the pewter Chevy Colorado police believe was used in the fatal hit-and-run. It was in the backyard of a home in the 100 block of Fay Avenue in the city's South Side.
"We seized the truck and took some people downtown for questioning and that yielded some information as to the identity of the suspect," said SAPD Sgt. Javier Salazar.
Crime Stoppers was offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the suspect's arrest.
