Lackland Instructor Heading to Prison

by Elizabeth Ruiz

A former Air Force training instructor is heading to prison for his part in a sex scandal at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland.
Staff Sgt Craig LeBlanc was convicted Thursday of all charges , with the exception of the most serious count of sexual assault.
"After an hour of deliberation, the judge in the case against Staff Sgt. Craig LeBlanc sentenced him to 30 months confinement, reduction to the lowest enlisted rank and a dishonorable discharge," said Joint Base San Antonio spokesman Brent Boller.
LeBlanc had sex with a basic trainee and having an affair with another woman while she was in technical school.
However, with the not guilty verdict on the sexual assault charge, LeBlanc avoided a maximum 30-year sentence.
He's one of 32 training instructors who have been or currently are under investigation in connection with the growing sex scandal at Lackland.
Two more training instructors will be in court next week. Technical Sergeant Samuel Wicks will be court-martialed Tuesday on charges of obstruction of justice, committing an indecent act and having unprofessional relationships with three technical training students.
Technical Sgt. Julio Morales will have an evidentiary hearing Tuesday. He's accused of having an unprofessional relationship with a trainee and committing adultery.
