A man accused of killing his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend has been found dead.
Twenty-three-year-old Daniel Stillwell was found dead in his car at the bottom of a cliff at Devil's Backbone in Comal County Thursday afternoon, just hours after he allegedly gunned down two people at an apartment in San Marcos.
Police Chief Howard Williams told 550 KTSA News officers were called to the Executive Townhomes on Craddock Avenue around 12:30 Thursday morning.
"When officers arrived they found the sliding glass window in the back of the apartment had been broken. They went in, went upstairs and found two people shot to death," Williams said.
The victims are identified as 22-year-old Hailey Nicholls and 27-year-old Jesse Robledo.
It didn't take long for investigators to name Stillwell as a suspect, but he was nowhere to be found.
Officers obtained a capital warrant, but the search for Stillwell ended Thursday afternoon when he was found dead.
