One person is dead in a plane crash near Boerne.
The small single-engine plane went down Sunday afternoon on State Highway 46 in Kendall County.
Trooper Deon Cockrell of the Texas Department of Public Safety tells 550 KTSA News the plane lost altitude, struck a tree, continued into a power line, then the roadway where it traveled around a hundred yards into a field where it caught fire.
Cockrell says the pilot was the only person on board the aircraft at the time.
An investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration continues.
