Parker Gets Death Threat

by Elizabeth Ruiz

The FBI is helping the Bexar County Sheriff's office investigate a death threat against Spurs point guard Tony Parker.

Someone called 911 late in the fourth quarter Sunday and threatened Parker's life as he was leading the Spurs to a 105-83 victory over the Grizzlies.

"We take all threats at the AT&T Center, for Spurs games or any other events, very seriously," said Berry.

He says security was immediately stepped up in and around the facility, but the game continued without interruption.

"After a thorough investigation, we determined that there was no imminent danger, but out of an abundance of caution, we provided security to Mr. Parker and escorted him to his home," Berry told 550 KTSA News.

Security will be tight when the Spurs host Memphis in game two of the Western Conference Finals Tuesday night at the AT&T Center.
