Police Eyeing Rodeo Traffic

Don't be alarmed by all of the law enforcement vehicles you'll see as you head to the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo.

Bexar County Precinct Three Constable Mark Vojvodich told 550 KTSA News they'll use automatic license plate recognition on vehicles going to the rodeo as they search for people wanted on felony warrants.

"That's a place where we can go in and use it to it's best advantage--which is to locate peole who have these warrants out who are fugitives from justice" Vojvodich said, adding this is the first time the technology will be used at the Rodeo--but it has been successful at other events.

"Just last year we cleared about seven-hundred arrests based off of automatic license plate--which would be seven-hundred fugitives that would not probably otherwise have been captured--or not captured that soon" Vojvodich said.
