The damaged Camry has a Texas license plate BZ4G811.
Officers originally thought 18-year-old Christopher Hinojos was shot and killed in a carjacking, but they're still trying to determine the motive for the shooting.
Police chief William McManus says Hinojos argued with a man before the shooting on Agency Oaks and Allendale Oak near UTSA around 11 last night. The other man shot Hinojos in the hand.
"The victim went to a residence for help and the shooter came back and shot him again several times, killling him on the scene," said McManus.
Hinojos died on the front porch of a home where he had gone to seek help.
"Right now we're looking at several possibilities of what might have happened there, whether the fight was over some particular ongoing incident or something that was spare of the moment," said McManus.
