San Antonio, TX (KTSA News)--A fit of road rage has left one man dead, and three others hospitalized.
Two vehicles, a maroon pickup and a blue SUV were headed westbound on Texas 151 Monday afternoon, when the SUV apparently cut off the man in the truck
"It looks like the driver of the truck took out a weapon and actually started shooting at the SUV, and one of the passengers of the SUV was struck by gunfire in the arm," said Sergeant Javier Salazar, with the San Antonio Police Department.
The shots caused the drivers of both the vehicles to lose control and they both flipped.
"My understanding is that both vehicles left the highway and lost control. Both vehicles rolled separately, and at this point it looks like the driver of the truck was killed in the accident, and he was the one that we're suspecting of having fired the shots," said Sergeant Salazar.
The other vehicle, the blue SUV, was carrying three passengers who were also injured in the incident.
"The three occupants of the vehicle: a male believed to be in his 50's, a male believed to be in his 20's, and then a young boy under the age of five, were taken to university hospital in undetermined condition," said Sergeant Salazar.
The section of Highway 151 between Westover hills Boulevard and Loop 1604 was closed for a few hours Monday because of the incident, backing up traffic severely as police continued their investigation into the accident and searched for bullet casings.
No word yet on whether of not the dead suspected shooter had any prior police records.
