by Elizabeth RuizTalk about a possible NFL team in San Antonio has resurfaced after Texas Governor Rick Perry's recent trip to California.
The purpose of his visit was to lure businesses to Texas by touting a better business climate in the Lone Star state, but while he was there, he was asked about the possibility of the San Diego Chargers moving here.
According to the San Diego Union-Tribune, The Chargers aren't too happy about Qualcomm Stadium, which was built in 1967.
The Alamodome is 19 years old, so when a reporter asked Perry about the possibility of moving the franchise, Perry responded," Dean is a good friend and I would be lying if I didn't tell you, come to Texas and we would love to have their athletic club there."
Dean Spanos, who owns the Chargers, contributed to Perry's presidential campaign last year. The governor referred the San Diego Union Tribune to Spanos for further questions about the team's future.
"I have no indication that the Chargers are going to be coming to Texas anytime soon," Perry told the newspaper.
