SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) – Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin was in San Antonio Monday night to take in a Spurs game at the AT&T Center with her grandson, Tripp.

She sat behind the Spurs bench and got a close view of the “Spurs and Coach Gregg Popovich in action.

The 2008 Republican vice-presidential hopeful  told the San Antonio Express News she enjoys watching Popovich, an outspoken critic of President Trump.

She told the paper she was impressed that “he’s still talking fundamentals” and  thinks he’s “amazing.”

When asked if she would talk to Popovich about Trump, she replied that she’d rather talk to him about basketball.

The Spurs edged the Denver Nuggets 104-103.

Her stop at the AT&T Center was part of a trip to Texas to visit her 28-year-old daughter, Bristol, who lives in Spicewood.

Photos on Instagram show the 55-year-old gun enthusiast practicing her shooting, visiting “real cowboys” in cafes.   She also posted a video of Tripp scoring a touchdown and a photo of them riding dirt bikes.
