Scam Warning From AG's Office

By Kurt Gilchrist

A new scam is making the rounds--this time using the name of the Texas Attorney General's Office

"If somebody asks you for your personal information, a social security number, a bank account number--anything personal like that--do not give it to them over the phone period" said Jerry Strickland with the Texas Attorney General's Office. He told 550 KTSA News anyone that may call you asking for money, using the Office's name--is simply a scam.

"If somebody is asking for your personal information--if somebody is saying you have an arrest warrant, and you can pay that arrest warrant by goign and pulling some money out of your bank account--you should steer clear from that" Strickland said.
