by Elizabeth Ruiz
Dance groups from as far away as Toronto, Canada are in town for the San Antonio Folk Dance Festival this weekend at Our Lady of the Lake University.

"They're a Serbian group and they're absolutely wonderful," said Nelda Drury, who founded the festival 55 years ago.

"We also have the Csardas Hungarian Dancers from Austin and the Bulgarian Rose Folk Dance Group from Houston," she told 550 KTSA News.

The highlight of the three-day festival is a concert Saturday night at Our Lady of the Lake's Thiry Auditorium.
Dancers from the Department of Parks and Recreation also will perform with 11-year-old Sebastien de la Cruz, El Charro de Oro.  The young Mariachi singer gained international fame when he appeared on NBC's America's Got Talent.

The Texas Thunder Cloggers, the Hula Halau Ohana Elikapeka, Ritmo Columbiano and the Karilagan Philippine Cultural Group also will perform at 7:30 pm Saturday. Admission is $10.
