By Don Morgan

He wants to bring an end to an era of legacy building in Bexar County--the word from San Antonio City Councilman Carlton Soules who has filed to run for Bexar County Judge as a Republican.

"One of the things I've been adament about is we get back to basic city governemnt--and we stop doign big legacy projects" Soules told 550 KTSA News--lookign back at his time on City Council as he moves ahead with his new challenge.

"The County is even worse if you look at the streetcar and San Pedro Creek. A lot of county money flowing in to legacy projects downtown" Soules said.

Soules is the third high-profile candidate to enter the race for County Judge. Incumbent Democrat Nelson Wolff is seeking re-election--and is being challenged for the Democratic nomination by Commissioner Tommy Adkisson. Soules decision to enter the race will result in his leaving his City Council post by the end of January.
