You can feel the fire in the voice of the new Head Football Coach at the University of Texas. You can also sense the enthusiasm building around Charlie Strong.
"What a hire you've made in Charlie Strong" said School President Bill Powers to Athletic Director Steve Patterson as the new coach was introduced. For his part, Strong said he's ready to restore some luster to the Longhorns.
"A program that has won four national titles--it's time to put the program back on the national stage" Strong said, adding recruiting will be a key focus in the years ahead.
"My staff and I will be commited to closing the borders on this great state--and making it realize this is their program. We will recruit with fire, and we will recruit with passion" Strong said.
Strong spent the last four years as the Head Coach at Louisville--he replaces Mack Brown, who stepped down following the Aalamo Bowl--after 16 seasons at the University of Texas.
