Texas to Face Oregon State in Alamo Bowl

The Texas Longhorns will face the Oregon State Beavers in San Antonio later this month for the 2012 Valero Alamo Bowl.

No. 13 Oregon State (9-3, 6-3 PAC-12) is coming off their last expected victory over Nicholls State in which they handidly won 77-3, while the No.23 Longhorns (8-4, 5-4 Big 12) are trailing in after big upsets against TCU and Kansas State this season.

However, sports experts are predicting the game will be a strong offensive showoff on both sides, and most are favoring the 2005 BCS Champions over the Beavers, who have yet to show their worth in a top-tier bowl game.

Game history favors the Longhorns as well, as they have handidly beaten the Beavers both times they have played them in the past: 35-0 in 1985, and 61-16 in 1987.

The two teams will face each other at the Alamodome on Saturday, December 29th. Kick-off is scheduled for 6:45 p.m.
