The first domino falls in the upcoming race for San Antonio Mayor.
State Representative Mike Villareal said he's in--as he stands unopposed in November in his House District Seat. While he may win re-election to Austin, Villareal said he has no plans for taking part in the upcoming legislative session at the State Capitol.
"This has not been an easy decision to make for me--but, after weighing my options, and ultimately answering this question based on principle, I feel that the right thing to do is to allow the public to decide" Villareal said, adding he plans to tell the Governor he will step aside in the State House after November's election, which will create the need for a special election.
