It happened just before 7:00 am when the wind tore away a small piece of the metal roof at the side entry area of Austin Elementary near downtown.

Leslie Price with the San Antonio Independent School District tells 550 KTSA News no students were in the building when the piece of roof was torn away. She says the wind also broke a window.
A temporary fix is in place until full repair is done.
Price says everyone is safe--with classes continuing as normal.
