Another Chase Ends With a Crash

Another chase ending with another crash–and three people landing in jail.

It all began at around 9 AM Tuesday Morning–when a Bexar County Sheriff’s Deputy noticed a car matching a description given by a woman to a San Antonio Police Officer–after she had been robbed while walking her dog.

“She said she had been robbed by three people in a black car” James Keith with the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office told KTSA News.

From there, the chase was on–reaching speeds of up to 60-miles per hour as it wound through portions of Alamo Heights and Northeast Bexar County.

“Eventually, a Department of Public Safety Trooper was able to assist our deputies by blocking off the vehicle… the vehicle crashed off of the Loop 410 access road near Harry Wurzbach” Keith said.

The three people inside of the car–which was stolen–ran–but were quickly captured. At least two of them are said to be minors.

“We believe they may be responsible for multiple armed robberies that occurred throughout the area this morning” Keith said, adding deputies did find stolen property inside of that car.

As for this pattern of chases we’ve seen of late, Keith said you can run–but you can’t hide.

“We have access to a helicopter–and they will pursue vehicles from the sky, which will allow our deputies to back off” Keith said.
