Another Murder Indictment for Genene Jones

By Bill O’Neil

A Bexar County Grand Jury has indicted convicted killer Genene Jones in another murder.

The indictment in the killing of 2-year-old Rosemary Vega follows on the heels of another last month in the murder of 11-month-old Joshua Sawyer.

The former pediatric nurse suspected of killing possibly dozens of infants is due to be released from prison next March. She has been serving concurrent prison sentences for 1984 convictions in the murders of Chelsea McClellan and Rolando Santos.

Prior to her mandatory release, Jones will be extradited back to Bexar County to await trial on the new charges.

We’re expecting to hear more from Bexar County District Attorney Nico LaHood on this new indictment Wednesday Afternoon. Stay with 550 KTSA and FM 107.1 for the latest on this developing story.
