Arrest in NE Bexar Shooting

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a murder suspect, accused of stealing the victim’s truck.

The county’s James Keith said Rey Sanchez was arrested without incident over the weekend.

It’s from an incident back in late May where two men were found in the middle of a road in east Bexar County.

“One of them had died from gunshot wounds,” Keith said. “We really didn’t have much information; the one man who did survive could not talk.”

But his condition has since improved and he helped investigators.

“He was able to write on a piece of paper who it was who shot him and the man who died,” he said. “We’re just excited at the fact that we finally have him in custody and we’re going to be able to bring some closure to the family of the man who lost his life.”
