Bexar Commissioners Set to Vote on Budget

The Bexar County budget is ready for a vote.

It goes in front of Commissioners Tuesday morning.

“Let’s say I’m mostly happy,” Commissioner Kevin Wolff said of the budget. “We will be getting a tax rate decrease, which is something I ask for almost every year, however I wish it was more.”

He said the only way to offset property valuation increases is with a tax rate decrease.

“The county’s going down from $0.31 down to $0.30 per $100 valuation,” he said. “I still wanted more so it’d offset some of the increase in property valuation.”

He said a change is possible, but unlikely. Commissioners are scheduled to vote Tuesday.
