Bexar Sheriff Concedes Defeat

“I want to congratulate Javier Salazar for a strong race.”

Sheriff Susan Pamerleau congratulated her challenger, Sheriff-elect Javier Salazar, the day after the election. Salazar beat Pamerleau by less than 1%.

She said the voters have spoken, the outcome is evident.

“I’m very proud of what we’ve done to move this agency from where we started four years ago to where it is today,” she said, citing technology and facilities improvements.

Her advice to Salazar: Listen “and know the facts and know all of the background, and make a decision based on that.”

As for what’s next, she said who really knows, but she does know this: “I’m probably gonna spend some time walking on the Riverwalk everyday, because I live right on the Riverwalk.”
