It looks like Border Patrol Agents have made a choice when it comes to the Race for the White House.
The National Border Patrol Council has endorsed Donald Trump’s campaign–a political move not typical of the Union.
“Mr. Trump has indicated a willingness to sit down with the Union–and work with the men and women on the front lines of the Border” the Union’s Shawn Moran told KTSA News, detailing the decision to endorse Trump.
“We need people that are serious about it (border security), and we believe Mr. Trump is that candidate” Moran said.
As for Ted Cruz, Moran said they’ve tried to work with the Texas Senator on his ideas.
“When we’ve tried to work with his office, we’ve been pawned off on junior staffers” Moran said, adding his frustration over where Cruz is getting his information on what’s happening along the Border.
“He’s going to the same Obama Appointees and Managers that continue to say the Border is more secure than ever” Moran said.
Meanwhile, it appears the “abrasiveness” many see in Trump had no weight in the Union’s endorsement decision.
“I think you could take sound bites from any politician, and say that at some point in their career they were abrasive to one group or another” Moran said, adding “It really didn’t weigh in to our decision.”
