Burn Ban Approved

Bexar County Commissioners Court has approved a 90-day burn ban for unincorporated areas.

The county’s Laura Jesse says the ban goes into effect immediately and will stay in effect until conditions improve.

She says there are a few exceptions.

“Residents in unincorporated Bexar County can burn household waste if they use a burn barrel and cover that barrel with a wire-mesh screen.”

She says recent rain and more showers on the way won’t reverse the ban.

“It’s just not enough to clear up the dry conditions.”
