Be careful when you use your credit or debit card at the gas pump.
Police early Monday found a card-scanning device inside a pump at a Northwest side convenience store on Huebner Road near IH 10.
“The victim in this case was notified by the bank that some credit card activity was going on in Waco while the victim was here in San Antonio,” said officer Doug Greene.
The man remembered that the last place he used his card was at that convenience store.
Greene says be vigilant and check the credit card reader before you slide your card.
“A lot of gas pumps have a security seal. That’s a piece of tape that’s over a certain portion of the gas pump,” said Greene.
And if that seal is broken, don’t slide your card. Green says report it immediately.
