Coffee With the Cops Saturday

Free coffee and a chat with the Chief.

On Saturday, you can get a free cup of coffee, hang with SAPD Chief William McManus, and meet your neighborhood police officers at the Coffee with the Cops events at the McDonalds at Bandera and Woodlawn.

“Meet with the Chief and just discuss about things that are going on in their neighborhood,” SAPD Officer Doug Greene said.

It’s an open forum, of sorts.

“They can ask some questions,” he said. “Topics range from your favorite sports team to an issue that you’re having with your neighbor.”

And he said these improve relations.

“I see a lot of people, maybe, have a different perspective about law enforcement, maybe even a negative perspective, and some of those walls are being broken down a little bit,” he said.

The coffee is free, so is the conversation. Kids can even get a free happy meal if they get fingerprinted. It all starts at 9:30am Saturday at 926 Bandera Rd.
