Cornyn Optimistic About Tax Reform

The Senate’s Number Two Republican likes what he hears so far as the Trump Administration turns its attention to tax reform.

“There’s no question there’s a lot of room for reforming our tax code” Senator John Cornyn said Wednesday.

“We know our tax code is way too complicated. It’s riddled with loopholes, inconsistencies, and provisions that impede job creation” Cornyn said.

The Senator is also convinced both political parties can get onboard with a tax reform effort that will encourage the economy to grow.

“It’s something that’s united Republicans and Democrats in the past, and there’s no reason why we shouldn’t be united again” the Senator said, picking up on a similar theme from the White House in the weeks following the end of the Obama Administration.

“So far, we’ve been able to save the American economy $63-billion worth of regulatory relief. That adds up to 52-million hours of compliance time” Cornyn said.
