Cuellar: Dems Can Work With Trump

As January 20th nears and President-elect Donald Trump prepares to take office, Congressman Henry Cuellar hopes that Democrats can find some common ground with Trump, “I hope that the environment will be one where we can sit down and work on some of the things [of importance].”

Cuellar mentioned the North American Free Trade Agreement and reiterated how important trade is for San Antonio, “Everyday there’s 1.5 billion dollars of trade between the U.S. and Mexico. We know that in the San Antonio area, the border area, trade creates a lot of jobs.”

He believes that there a number of things that Democrats can work on with Mister Trump, “I’m one of those Democrats, that I wanna work with him, I’m gonna give him the benefit of the doubt.”

The question, however, is whether or not Trump can work with Democrats? Cuellar seems unsure, “I don’t know” is what he told KTSA news.
