Dangerous Days for Teen Drivers

The nights of cruising around with friends is becoming more dangerous for teenaged drivers.

Doug Shupe at Triple A says the number of crashes involving young drivers goes up, a lot this time of year. He says most of the time, those crashes are due to distracted drivers.

“The number reason why teens were distracted is talking or attending to other passengers in the vehicle.”

He says with the constant use of cell phones, teen drivers are more distracted than ever before.

More than 1,000 people die each year in crashes involving teen drivers.
