DPS Watching as Roads Get Busy

A busy couple of weekends are coming up for Texas Law Enforcement.

Lt. Jason Reyes at the Department of Public Safety says they’ll be increasing patrols this weekend and next as motorists hit the roads for the holidays.

“We’ll be looking for drunk drivers, distracted drivers, people not wearing seatbelts or any dangerous driver.”

Lt. Reyes says in spite of their best efforts, people are still getting thousands of tickets for those violations and sadly, the number of traffic fatalities for this year is on par with last year.

Reyes says to slow down, don’t drive drunk and eliminate distractions to avoid a ticket of a serious traffic accident.
