Early Morning Chase Leaves BCSO Deputy Injured

An early morning chase ends with a crash in Northeast Bexar County–sending Sheriff’s Deputy to the hospital.

“Around 1 AM, one of our Deputies attempted to stop a vehicle coming from an illegal dumping site” Roseanne Hughes with the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office told KTSA News.

From there, the chase was on along FM 1516–before finally coming to an end near FM 78.

“The driver continued on until crashing in to a culvert” Hughes said, adding “Due to poor lighting, the Deputy also crashed in to the culvert.”

That’s where the driver of the truck was arrested. He now faces a number of charges.

“The Deputy was taken to Northeast Methodist Hospital with minor injuries–nobody else was injured” Hughes said.
