Eastside Standoff Ends Peacefully

By Elizabeth Ruiz and Bill O’Neil

A SWAT situation on the Eastside comes to a peaceful end early Tuesday Morning.

It all began with a call to police about a man firing shots in to the air at a home onĀ Enchanted Sun.

“The individual became agitated inside of his house–began firing his weapon inside of his house–then proceeded outside” SAPD’s Officer Douglas Greene said, describing what happened for KTSA News.

“At one point, we had our police helicopter over the area, and the pilots did observe the suspect fire his weapon in to the air” Greene said.

The man was taken in to custody by officers at about 5:30 AM. He could face a number of charges.

“Discharging a firearm in a municipality–which is a misdemeanor. We will also execute a search warrant at the location, and try to take in to possession any firearms that may be at the house” Greene said.
