A confirmed case of the Zika Virus in the El Paso area has been linked to the outbreak in the Miami area.

The Texas Department of State Health Services said the case contracted by a traveler is the first linked to a series of local Zika transmissions in the Miami area. It is also the first Zika case in the El Paso area.

Officials said there is no evidence of any further transmission of the virus in Texas.

More than one-hundred cases of Zika have been reported across Texas–all have been contracted outside of the Lone Star State.
