Free Fall Continues at the Gas Pump

It seems as though nothing can stop those free falling gas prices.

New numbers from AAA Texas put the statewide average price per gallon of regular unleaded at $1.61–the San Antonio average at $1.58.

“That’s down four-cents from a week ago” said the auto club’s Doug Shupe, who told KTSA News you haven’t been paying these kind of prices in years.

“Today’s gas prices are the cheapest since January of 2009” Shupe said, adding “Texans are paying about $22.50 to fill up the typical 14-gallon size fuel tank.”

Prices are expected to remain low through the winter. If you are planning a road trip, you’ll run in tot he highest average prices in Dallas and Fort Worth–the lowest in Amarillo and Texarkana.
