Gallagher Won’t Seek Re-Election to Council

After nearly 3 years on City Council, Mike Gallagher says he’s not running for another term.

Gallagher spoke to KTSA Thursday afternoon about his time in Council Chambers. He says he is proud of the work they have done for the city and feels confident that the positive momentum will continue.

The big question we had was why. Gallagher says his decision was based on the fact that he spends a lot of time attending to council business, meetings, ribbon cuttings, ground breaking ceremonies and reading the mountains of paperwork that come with every issue.

He says he’s not running for re-election in order to spend more time with his family and friends. Gallagher says he feels he’s made a difference and done some good work for the city.

He says San Antonio is a great place and there’s nowhere else he’d rather live.
