The GOP, Congress, and November

Could Democrats be in line to gain some ground in Congress this November?

“I’m optimistic that Republicans will retain the majority in the Senate, as well as the House,” Senator John Cornyn told KTSA News

And no matter who wins the Presidency, “our founding fathers believed that the parties could be checks and balances, and the different branches of government could be checks and balances,” he said. “And I think people will want those checks and balances.”

But he said the Republican Party is a little confusing right now, but “the only comfort I take from that is that the Democrats look like they have a little civil war too, between Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton.”

November is just a few months away.
