Ground Broken on New Sheriff’s Office Substation

Work is underway to build a new Sheriff Patrol Substation on the Northeast side.

County Commissioner Tommy Calvert says the new substation is going to cut back on response times and save taxpayer dollars spent on gas and tires for Sheriff Department vehicles.

Calvert says that area of Bexar County is often overlooked and as a result, it’s seen an increase in crimes. He believes by having a stronger law enforcement presence, those with criminal intent will think again.

Calvert says the substation is just the begenning of new development planned for the area. The County bought several acres of land on 1604 near Randolph and the plan is to have more retail in that area.

The substation will be ready in a year and is located on 1604 at Rocket Lane.
