Ground Broken on Redland Road Expansion

Ground has been broken on an 11 million dollar project on the northeast side.

City Councilman Mike Gallagher says some big improvements are coming to Redland Road from 1604 to Jones Maltsberger.

“The purpose of this is because we’ve had such heavy traffic in that area. When the bond was passed, all the people in that area supported the idea of the project” Gallagher said.

Drivers will have a new four lane road, plus new lanes for bicyclists and sidewalks for pedestrians.

The money comes from the 2012 bond program and Bexar County. The project should be done in a year.
